John Altmeyer

John Altmeyer is CEO of GAF, North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, a company that has protected homes, businesses, families and communities for over 130 years. John leverages more than three decades of leadership experience and a customer-focused approach to drive growth for GAF and help fulfill the company’s promise to protect what matters most.

Before being named CEO in January, 2023, John led GAF’s commercial roofing business, helping grow GAF’s market leadership in this key segment. Prior to joining GAF, John served as President of Carlisle Construction Materials for more than two decades. Previously, he held a succession of leadership roles at Carlisle, including Director, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to his time with Carlisle, John held a variety of financial positions at Carrier Corporation, a division of United Technologies. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of Utz Brands, Inc. and the EMCOR Group. He previously served on the Board of Tecta America and Berkshire Bank.

John holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard University.
