Sean Hung

Sean Hung currently serves as a Principal Engineer and Senior Research Scientist at GAF, focusing on Commercial Systems R&D since January 2023. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Development Scientist at Corning Incorporated, where contributions were made to the Corning Gorilla Glass Development from July 2018 to December 2022, and as a Postdoctoral researcher at The University of Akron, which involved the development of automation software and analysis toolkits for molecular dynamics simulation. During a Ph.D. tenure at The University of Akron, Sean spearheaded advancements in strategies, theories, and software for understanding glass transition in various materials, notably creating the PreSQ computational framework that significantly improved simulation efficiency. Military experience includes service as a Second Lieutenant Commissioned Officer in the Marine Corps of Taiwan, where oversight of a platoon of 200 Marines was managed. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Polymer/Plastics Engineering and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Polymer Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering, respectively, from National Taiwan University.
