Founded in 2003, Galileo Mining (ASX:GAL) is focused on exploring for the most critical element required in the production of lithium batteries to power electric vehicles – cobalt. 

The company owns exploration tenements near Norseman and the Fraser Range in Western Australia’s southeast region. Both projects are prospective for cobalt-nickel laterite and nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralisation. 

Galileo is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the code GAL and is focussed on rapidly evaluating and expanding its JORC (2012) compliant resources and other prospective targets within its tenements. 

At the Norseman project the company is exploring through field work and drilling to better understand the deposit geology. Concurrently, Galileo will plan work on a scoping study with the initial step of acquiring high-quality diamond core samples for metallurgical test work.

At the Fraser Range project, Galileo will undertake a detailed review and interpretation of previous exploration to define prospective areas for follow-up work, including drilling and ground geophysics.

Norseman Project (100%-owned) 

- Exploration and prospecting licences totalling 276.82km 
- Total JORC compliant resources of 22,500t cobalt and 106,000t nickel (20.2Mt grading 0.11% cobalt, 0.53% nickel at a cut-off of 600ppm cobalt) 
- 15 prospecting licenses under application and additional exploration potential for platinum, palladium and lithium 
- Scoping Study to be developed in parallel with exploration and JORC resource development program 

Fraser Range Project (67%-owned) 

- Consists of two zones – Kitchener and Yardilla – running along the Fraser Range geological belt 
- Minimal modern exploration and no drilling for nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation of the style first found in the region at the Nova mine in 2012
