John Gallagher

John Gallagher has extensive work experience in various roles within the defense and aerospace industry. John is currently serving as the Director of Product Development at Gallagher Corporation since November 2017. Prior to this, they worked as a Strategist at the Office of Naval Research from August 2016 to November 2017. From August 2011 to May 2015, they held the position of International Programs Manager at the same organization.

John also worked at the Office of the Secretary of Defense as an Aerospace Technology Staff Specialist from July 2010 to June 2011. In this role, they provided oversight and coordination of science and technology investments for aircraft, helicopters, unmanned air systems, and hypersonics across the Department of Defense. John also supported the acquisition of aerospace platforms by assessing their technology maturity/readiness.

Before joining the Office of the Secretary of Defense, John served as a Science Advisor at the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) from July 2008 to July 2010. Prior to that, they worked at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) from July 2001 to July 2008. In this organization, they held roles as a Systems Engineer and a Specialty Engineer (Combat Survivability).

John's early career began as a Manufacturing Consultant at Hagen & Co from July 2000 to January 2001. Overall, they have a diverse range of experience in both technical and managerial positions within the defense and aerospace sectors.

John Gallagher earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2000. John later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at MIT Sloan School of Management from 2015 to 2016.
