GameDev.com.mt was created by Simon Cutajar in an attempt to unify and have a central hub for the Maltese games industry. It is an independent initiative.

The idea behind the site is to have a central list where people could search for companies, organizations, educational institutes, job opportunities as well as actual games created in the Maltese Islands. Collecting all these different aspects of the local industry in one place allows it to be more visible and makes it easier for others to see what is going on. This will hopefully encourage investors (who will see a growing industry) as well as local talent (who realize that their dream is something that can be made real with lots of hard work).
