Tom Shaw

Tom Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Tom began their career as a Web Developer at Midhurst Sports & Cycles in 2003 and later transitioned to a Software Developer role at Uniworld Communications in 2008. In 2011, Tom joined Gamma as an Assistant DBA before progressing through various positions such as Database Administrator, Senior Database Administrator, and Lead Database Administrator (Compliance & Infosec). Tom then moved into the role of Data Platform Architect and eventually became the Technical Security Manager. Currently, Tom holds the position of Head of Security Operations at Gamma.

Tom Shaw earned a BSc(Hons) degree in Computer Network Management & Design from the University of Portsmouth during the period of 2006-2010. In addition, they obtained various certifications including the GIAC Security Operations Manager Certification (GSOM) in April 2023, the GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON) in August 2021, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in March 2019, the MCSE: Data Management and Analytics from Microsoft in June 2016, the ITIL® Foundation certificate in IT Service Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in March 2015, the NIOP: Nimble Installation & Operation Professional from Nimble Storage in November 2014, the MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 from Microsoft in September 2014, and the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance from Microsoft in May 2013.
