Felipe Melivilu, EIT has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Felipe currently works as a Senior Industrial Design Engineer at Gantri, starting in August 2022. Previously, Felipe worked at Rubbish from June 2018, where they served as a Lead Mechanical Engineer and Video Editor. Felipe was responsible for designing and building hardware prototypes and a tool that works with the Rubbish iOS app to track litter.
Before joining Gantri, Felipe worked as an Industrial Mechatronics Engineer at OSARO from January to July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Gantri as a Senior Industrial Design Engineer from May 2021 to January 2022.
Felipe also gained experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Airspace Systems Inc. from October 2018 to November 2019. Felipe focused on the design and development of UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) prototypes, integrating different sensor packages, communications equipment, and kinetic payloads.
In their earlier career, Felipe worked as a Robotics Engineer at Sentien Robotics from June 2015 to June 2018, where they were responsible for system and component-level design of an advanced prototype sUAS ground management robot called the Sentien "Hive."
Additionally, Felipe worked as an Engineer at Edge Tech Labs from August 2016 to January 2017 and as a Teaching Assistant at James Madison University from January to May 2016. In their teaching role, they assisted and supervised students in the brewing laboratory and collaborated on drafting grant proposals for the Department of Engineering's brewing program with Drs. Steven Harper and Sam Morton.
Felipe Melivilu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University. Felipe attended the university from 2010 to 2016, specializing in Digital Video & Cinema in 2014 and Engineering in 2016.
