Simon Ross

Simon Ross has extensive experience in finance and structured products. Simon started their career as a Student Engineer at ICI in 1983 and worked there until 1986. Simon then moved on to Mars Confectionery as a Packaging Engineer until 1992. Simon joined Bankers Trust in 1994, where they held various roles including VP in Risk Management Services, primarily working with Indonesian clients, and VP in Structured Products, focusing on derivative products for risk management of US corporations. In 1999, they joined JP Morgan as VP in Global Structured Credit, where they originated and structured collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and built specialized models for CDO analysis. Simon then joined HSBC Bank USA, N.A. in 2005 as Senior VP in Structured Credit Products until 2008. Following that, they worked as a Structured Products Consultant from 2008 to 2010, providing consulting services to asset managers and investors. Simon's next role was at DBRS, where they served as SVP, leading the European Structured Credit group and rating SME collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) from Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Belgium. Simon played a crucial role in establishing DBRS's presence in Europe and managing a team of nine. Simon then joined Remitia Limited in 2015 as part of their financing and securitization team, supporting the development of their invoice paying program. Currently, Simon is the Head of Finance/Securitisation at Gardenia Technologies, where they focus on financing and operational aspects and explores funding options, such as securitization, aligned with the algorithms being developed by the technologies team.

Simon Ross completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge from 1984 to 1987. Simon later pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Finance from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management from 1992 to 1994. Prior to their university education, they attended Dulwich College from 1977 to 1983, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned during this period.
