Educating 56,000 students across 72 campuses, Garland ISD ranks as the second-largest district in Dallas County, fourth-largest in Dallas-Fort Worth, 13th-largest in Texas, and is among the 70-largest in America.

The district spans the cities of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse, yet maintains a small town, family feel. With a rich tradition of excellence, GISD boasts a diverse population that speaks more than 100 languages, as well as technology-driven campuses, magnet programs and approximately 200 Career and Technical Education courses.

The Instructional Specialists team at Garland ISD is dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes across the district's diverse student body. This team supports teachers by providing specialized expertise in sheltered instruction, language acquisition, and dual language immersion (DLI) programs in Vietnamese and Spanish. They work across elementary and secondary levels, focusing on effective instructional strategies, newcomer support, and compliance with language proficiency assessment standards, thereby ensuring that all students, including newcomers and multilingual learners, achieve academic success.

The Education and Instruction Team at Garland ISD is responsible for developing and implementing instructional strategies and educational programs across all 72 campuses. This multi-faceted team collaborates to ensure high-quality education for the district's diverse student population, ranging from elementary to secondary levels. They facilitate curriculum development, oversee instructional quality, support teachers' professional development, and enhance specialized programs such as the Aerospace Science AF Junior ROTC.

This team handles tasks such as processing purchase orders, managing schedules, coordinating communications, and providing essential clerical support to directors and coordinators. Their work is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and organization necessary to support the district's educational mission.

The Education & Safety Operations team at Garland ISD ensures the safety, academic excellence, and operational efficiency across all campuses. This team integrates security measures, oversees curriculum development, leverages advanced technology, manages human resources, and coordinates effective communication strategies to provide a supportive learning environment for staff and students.

The Leadership Team at Garland ISD is responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring the effective management of educational initiatives across the district. Comprising key roles such as the Chief Academic Officer and Chief Financial Officer, the team collaborates to enhance student outcomes, optimize resource allocation, and foster a positive school culture, all while supporting the unique needs of a diverse student population.

Leadership Team

The Parent and Family Engagement team at Garland ISD works to foster strong connections between the district's diverse student body and their families. This team supports parents and guardians through educational workshops, resources, and outreach programs to enhance student success and community involvement.
