Matt Tones has extensive experience in engineering and market intelligence, currently serving as Sr. Applications Engineer & Training Coordinator and Director of Market Intelligence at Garlock Family of Companies since July 2011. Previously, Matt held the position of Director of Product Manager - North America. Prior to that, Matt worked at Garlock Sealing Technologies from 2008 to 2011 as Sr. Manager of Application & Engineering Services. Matt Tones obtained a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan University (1999-2000) and an Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Monroe Community College (1992-1994).

Garlock devised a better way to seal piston rods in industrial steam engines. First established in 1887 in Port Gibson, New York, the Garlock Packing Company relocated to Palmyra, NY, in 1889. By the early 1900s, Mr. Garlock’s company began establishing facilities at Garlock's current world headquarters.
