Garnet Tanner

Senior Design Engineer

Garnet Tanner is a Senior Hardware Design Engineer and currently a member in training at Garmin. They completed a Bachelor of Engineering with a Minor in Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary, graduating in 2019. Active in student organizations, Garnet served as the Electrical Team Lead for the Student Organization for Aerospace Research from 2015 to 2018, where they designed an avionics development board. They also led a product development team that created a versatile outdoor LED lamp, which entered the James Dyson Award Competition, and collaborated on an ash sifting device for Canadian Global Response. Before their current role at Garmin, Garnet worked as a Design Engineer from 2019 to 2023.
