Matt J. has extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in backend development using Java Spring Boot at Garmin since January 2013. Currently serving as a Technical Lead Software Engineer and Software Engineering Team Lead, Matt oversees the Aviation Web Services division and has led numerous critical API development projects for aviation-related services. Previous roles at Garmin include contributions to the Garmin Pilot iOS application and the Cirrus SF50 flight control system. Prior to Garmin, Matt engaged in academic and research positions, including internships at Cray Inc. and the National Institute for Computational Sciences, and worked on high-performance computing projects, including enhancements for the Mars Curiosity Rover simulations at NASA. Matt holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
