Mike Brown

Mike Brown is an experienced engineering leader with a robust background in software development and project management. Currently serving as Senior Team Lead in Marine Software Engineering at Garmin since July 2021, Mike focuses on product telematics and cameras for marine applications. Prior to joining Garmin, Mike owned and managed Code Refinery for over two decades, overseeing teams of software and verification engineers on various medical device projects. Additional experience includes roles at Foard Systems Design Inc. in software development for medical devices, mechanical engineering at the National Undersea Research Center, and aerospace engineering at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where performance analysis for sub-orbital missions was a key responsibility. Mike holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, both from North Carolina State University, complemented by foundational education at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
