Nathaniel Erickson

Flight Control Systems Intern

Nathaniel Erickson has a robust background in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering, with experience spanning various roles in both internships and leadership positions. Currently serving as a Flight Control Systems Intern at Garmin since May 2022, Nathaniel develops model-based simulation test environments for flight control systems. Involvement in the MSAT Advanced Propulsion Experiment since October 2019 includes thrust determination using Kalman filters and addressing protocol issues on satellite motherboards. As a Project Lead for Engineers Without Borders USA, Nathaniel oversees teams focused on designing and implementing potable water systems in Ecuador and Bolivia. Previous experience includes a technical design internship at Leonardo DRS, where Nathaniel contributed to missile launching mechanism assembly and optimization, as well as an early role as a Pro-Shop Assistant at Jefferson City Country Club. Nathaniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
