Head of Federal Cloud Services at Garrison

Ray Marshall has extensive work experience in the field of cyber defense and IT support operations. Ray started their career with the United States Air Force as a Munitions Systems Technician from 1998 to 2002. Ray then joined the Air National Guard, where they held various roles such as Cyber Defense Operations Superintendent, Cyber Systems Training/SME, Cyber Transportation Craftsman/Crew Lead, Plans and Requirements, and Communications Focal Point/Job Control. In these roles, Ray managed defensive cyber operations, ensured mission qualification of cyber technicians, trained trainees on various systems, supervised teams, and coordinated communications efforts. Since 2023, they have been serving as the Head of Federal Cloud Services at Garrison, where they oversee cloud services at a federal level.

Ray Marshall has a diverse education history in the field of cybersecurity and information assurance. Ray obtained a Master of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance degree from Western Governors University from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations and Affairs from American Military University between 2010 and 2013. Ray also holds an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician, which they obtained from the Community College of the Air Force.

In addition to their formal education, Ray has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and expertise. Ray is a certified Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, having completed the certification in April 2023. Ray also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, which they achieved in March 2020. Ray is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) as well, having obtained the certification from EC-Council in March 2021.

Ray also possesses certifications from CompTIA, including A+, CompTIA IT Operations Specialist (CIOS) Stackable Certification, CompTIA Linux Network Professional (CLNP) Stackable Certification, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS) Stackable Certification, CompTIA Systems Support Specialist (CSSS) Stackable Certification, Linux+, and Security+.
