Amber Johns

Honorary Scientist at Garvan Institute of Medical Research

Amber Johns has a diverse and extensive work experience. Amber started their career in 2000 at Laverty Pathology as the Chief Scientist for Histopathology, where they managed services across NSW and was responsible for workforce management and quality control. In 2006, they joined the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, initially as an Honorary Scientist and later as the Program Manager for the Cancer Research Program, where they directed the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative. In 2018, they joined ICGC ARGO as a Project Developer, leading the secretariat team and overseeing programs across 13 countries to analyze specimens from cancer patients. In 2021, they also worked as a Consultant Advisor at Chrysalis Advisory. Currently, they are a Project Manager at Concr, focusing on translational projects.
