Kylie James is an accomplished researcher currently serving as Head of Laboratory in Gut Immunogenomics and Group Leader in Immunogenomics of Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since January 2021. Additionally, Kylie holds a position as Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and Junior Research Fellow at Christ's College, University of Cambridge. Kylie's research focuses on the Human Gut Immune Cell and Microbiome Atlas, contributing to the Human Cell Atlas. Additional experiences include working as a Scientist in Functional Genomics at GSK and conducting impactful research during a PhD at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. Kylie holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Hons) in Parasitology from the University of Queensland.
