Lowenna Holt, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of medical research. Lowenna started their career as a PhD scholar at the University of Cambridge, where they focused on studying the role of Grb10 in insulin and IGF receptor signaling. After completing their PhD in 2003, they joined the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as a Scientist, Postdoctoral, where they conducted research on the function of the adapter protein Grb10 using knockout mouse models, dietary interventions, and cell culture studies. Lowenna also conducted investigations on the effects of Grb10 and Grb14 disruption in mice, specializing in studying whole body metabolism, insulin signaling, and muscle development. In 2018, they joined the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute as a Research Support Project Officer. Overall, Lowenna Holt, PhD has a strong background in medical research with expertise in studying molecular signaling pathways and their impact on various physiological processes.
Lowenna Holt, PhD completed their education at the University of Cambridge, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Biochemistry from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they attended the University of Sydney from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained a BMedSc(Hons) degree in Biochemistry. In addition to their degrees, they also hold a certification as a Research Manager (Foundation) from the Australian Research Management Society, which they obtained in September 2020.
