Peter Croucher

Professor, Director, Cancer Plasticity and Dormancy Program

Peter Croucher is a distinguished scientist with 25 years of experience leading an independently funded research laboratory across the University and Medical Research Institute sectors in the UK and Australia. Currently, Croucher serves as Professor and Director of the Cancer Plasticity and Dormancy Program at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, while also holding multiple leadership roles throughout their career, including Head of Department and Deputy Institute Director. Croucher's expertise has positioned them as a principal investigator on numerous national and international research initiatives, and they are known for coordinating significant research partnerships globally. Prior to their current role, Croucher was the Head of the Department of Human Metabolism at the University of Sheffield and held senior fellowships at prestigious institutions, including the University of Oxford and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. Croucher earned a PhD in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the University of Wales College of Medicine and a BSc in Zoology from University College Cardiff.
