Manager, Research Ethics, Governance And Integrity at Garvan Institute of Medical Research

Rayson Tan has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Rayson started their career in 2008 as a Veterinarian at a Veterinary Consultancy, where they provided veterinary services. In 2011, they joined the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as an Executive Officer - Research Ethics, Compliance, and Governance. In this role, they headed a unit and led a team responsible for research administration and oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory affairs and research best practices. In 2017, Rayson became the Chief Scientific Officer at CannPal, contributing their expertise in scientific research. Rayson worked there until 2021. Concurrently, in 2018, they also served as a Justice of the Peace (NSW) in the NSW Government's Department of Justice, providing judicial services.

Rayson Tan has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the Australian Institute of Business. Rayson also has a CMAVA qualification from the Australian Veterinary Association and an MRCVS certification from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma in Biotechnology from Singapore Polytechnic. Rayson Tan completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Immunology. Rayson then pursued their passion for veterinary medicine and surgery at the same university, obtaining a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (Hons) degree. Finally, Rayson Tan furthered their expertise in veterinary oncology by completing a PhD program at the University of Sydney.
