Tim Ho

Tim Ho is the Head of Research Computing at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since November 2022, focusing on developing a multi-year research computing strategy to enhance IT capabilities such as high performance computing, cloud computing, and multi-tier storage solutions. Prior to this role, Tim held multiple positions at CSIRO from September 2007 to October 2022, including HPC and Research Platforms Team Lead, Technical Solutions Manager, eResearch Workflow Service Team Lead, User Services Manager, User Support and Science Software Manager, and User and Applications Support Specialist, providing extensive HPC and parallel programming support. Tim began a career in research as a Computer Programmer at Monash University from February 2002 to September 2007 after earning a PhD in Computer Science from Monash University in 2007.
