Edwin Cheung

Edwin Cheung currently serves as the Global Head of OTC at Gate.io, where responsibilities include expanding the PayFi ecosystem and managing OTC desks across multiple regions. Previously, Edwin held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Gate Dubai, focusing on VARA licensing and corporate management, and served as the Head of Business Development for Gate HK, where completion of HKSI Paper 1 and 2 was achieved despite a withdrawal of the VATP application. Prior experience includes roles at HKbitEX as Director of Institutional Sales, Standard Chartered Bank as Associate Director managing asset managers and hedge funds, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as a Relationship Manager, and HSBC Global Banking and Markets as an Analyst. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Fintech & ESG from HKUST Business School and an ongoing MBA exchange at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, complemented by a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics & Finance from the University of Melbourne.
