Senior Director, Strategic Investments at Gates Ventures

Quinn Cornelius has a diverse work experience, starting in 2000 as an Investment Banking Analyst at Wachovia Securities. They then moved on to Allied Capital, where they worked as a Private Equity Senior Associate from 2003 to 2006. In 2008, Quinn joined BMGI, the investment office for the Gates Foundation and the Gates family. Here, they held the position of Senior Investment Professional - Private Assets. In this role, they focused on investing in private companies and making commitments to private equity funds across various industries. They also served as the chairman of Optim Energy, a privately-held power generation company, and advised on the direct venture portfolio called Gates Frontier. Following their time at BMGI, Quinn worked as an Independent Consultant under the name Cornelius Capital from 2017 to 2018. Currently, Quinn is a Senior Director of Strategic Investments at Gates Ventures, a position that they have held since 2018.
