Gathered is a nonprofit strengthening the wellbeing of vulnerable children, youth, and families by bringing our community together in a shared circle of support. We believe lasting change happens when people move beyond silos and stand shoulder-to-shoulder much like the bison who form a protective double circle around the vulnerable.

Through Gathered Strong Sedgwick County (GSSC), we lead a community-powered continuum of care that reduces out-of-home placements, supports youth aging out of foster care, expands prevention efforts, and mobilizes cross-sector partners to solve complex challenges together.

Our work includes youth empowerment, early intervention, faith community engagement, collective impact leadership, collaborative resource mapping, and convenings that unite government, nonprofits, education, business, philanthropy, and lived-experience leaders.

Guided by the Kansas Leadership Center competencies, we help our community diagnose problems honestly, manage ourselves well, energize others, and intervene skillfully.

Our vision is a Sedgwick County where every child and family is surrounded by a strong, connected, and compassionate circle of care and where collaboration becomes our community’s defining strength.
