Rick Caton

Rick Caton is the Director of Enterprise Solutions at GBX Group. Prior to this, they were self-employed as an IT contractor from October 2017 to January 2019. Before that, they were the Network Administrator at The Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland (CEOGC) from October 2013 to October 2017.

Rick has extensive experience in project management, budgeting, and implementation of Office 365 and VOIP installation. Rick is also well-versed in transitioning to cloud-based applications and software, as well as installing and upgrading servers, firewalls, and switches. Additionally, Rick has experience with OS migration, Active Directory maintenance, and group policies. As Network Administrator at CEOGC, Rick was responsible for developing the company's SharePoint IT Trouble Ticket system and Intranet with Virtual Academy, Group Calendars, and Document Sharing. Rick also administered the email exchange server in Office 365 and created group policies for companywide servers, applications, and security features.

Rick is a skilled problem solver with a keen attention to detail. Rick has successfully managed projects to bring organizations into the 21st century, always delivering on time and within budget. Rick has also coordinated staff education and developed curriculum for new technologies and applications usage. Rick is known for their ability to resolve complex system problems and end user issues utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Rick Caton has a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Bachelor's Degree in Network and System Administration/Administrator from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and an Associates Degree in Computer Science with a focus in Network Security from ECPI University.

Rick Caton works with Laura Manville - IT Software Applications Analyst, Mahadi Talley - IT Support Technician, and Helen Tocco - Senior Project Engineer. Rick Caton reports to Brian Walmsley, Chief Technology Officer.
