On Lee's work experience begins in 1990 when they worked as a Senior Engineer at Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI), where they delivered software for real-time video and 3D graphics integration. On then worked at Kubota Pacific Computer (KPC) Inc. as a Technical Lead before joining Microsoft Corporation in 1993. At Microsoft, On Lee served as a Director, starting and growing new start-up groups and establishing infrastructure for software development. On also played a role in driving the creation of the next generation TabletPC. In 2001, On Lee became the VP of Engineering/Co-Founder at INEW Corporation, where they designed and implemented the company's website. Following this, they worked at Symantec Corporation as a Senior Director, leading the development of new security products. On Lee then joined LogLogic Inc. (acquired by Tibco) as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President Engineering, overseeing operations and driving product and technology strategies. In 2009, On Lee co-founded Bright 50, LLC, where they educated, enabled, and empowered people in healthcare. On later served as the CEO & CTO at KASKUS Networks and GDP Labs. Prior to their current role, On Lee worked as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at PT. Global Digital Prima (GDP) Venture, focusing on strategic internet investments in the Indonesian market.

On Lee has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Utah State University, which they completed in 1984. On then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the same university in 1984.
