Crystal Bemis

Crystal Bemis is the content coordinator at GD&T Basics. Crystal previously worked as a blogger and website operator at Pennies & Playdough from October 2016 to October 2019. Her responsibilities included design and maintenance of the website through Wordpress, writing, editing, and publishing content, photography and photo editing, graphics creation, MailChimp e-newsletter publishing, social media marketing and engagement, tracking analytics.

Before that, they worked as a senior mechanical engineer at Schlumberger from September 2004 to December 2009. Her responsibilities included designing sand screens for cased and open-hole applications and supporting the manufacturing of the products. Crystal also extensively used Excel in the upkeep of the Sand Screen design generator, revised logic and calculations when changes to the product were made, created design procedure documents, and conducted multi-departmental preproduction meetings to review design details of the product before manufacture.

Crystal Bemis attended Oklahoma State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Crystal also holds certifications from the Air Academy in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) and from the State of Oklahoma in Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and Engineer Intern. In addition, they have a Social Media Marketing Certification from HubSpot Academy.
