Michael Smith

Michael Smith is a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Power R&D at GE Aerospace, where they have been contributing since 2023 and previously worked as a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer from 2016 to 2023. They have extensive experience in advanced power switching, distribution, and battery design. Prior to their role at GE Aerospace, Michael was a Mechanical Design Engineer at GE Aviation from 2007 to 2010, where they led projects in solid-state switching and the development of integrated flight display systems. Michael holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Warwick, completed in 2007, and is currently affiliated with Reading School.
