Senior Research Engagement Manager at GÉANT

Domenico (Dom) Vicinanza serves as the Senior Research Engagement Manager at GÉANT since January 2008, overseeing international artistic projects in music, visual arts, poetry, theatre, and dance, while also coordinating initiatives such as the ASTRA and Lost Sound Orchestra projects. In previous roles at GÉANT, Vicinanza led a task force on intercontinental networks for radio astronomy and initiated a successful joint venture for quantum key distribution. Concurrently, Vicinanza holds the position of Associate Professor of Intelligent Systems and Data Science at Anglia Ruskin University, where contributions include designing a new MSc Data Science course and improving student satisfaction. Additionally, Vicinanza aligns efforts with Arts Council England as the Relationship Manager for Music and Music Education, focusing on diversity and community connections. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physics and a Specialist Certificate in Orchestration for Film and Television from Berklee College of Music.
