Gilles Massen

Gilles Massen is the General Manager / Directeur of the RESTENA Foundation, a role they have held since 2017, responsible for implementing the decisions of the board of directors, proposing and implementing RESTENA's strategy, setting up annual budgets and annual finance reports, driving the evolution of the Foundation, and representing the Foundation in national and international fora. They are the Chair of the Board of Directors at GÉANT, a position they have held since 2022. They are the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LU-CIX Management GIE, a role they have held since 2016. Earlier in their career, they served as Attaché à la direction at RESTENA Foundation (2016-2017) and as Head of Technical Affairs, with responsibilities for technical development and operations for .lu and for representing RESTENA in international organisations and fora, and they were a member of the CSIRT Team. They taught several courses on security, network security, and architectures as a chargé de cours associé at the University of Luxembourg from 2001 to 2014, and they developed an application/database in Lotus Notes for the management of the .lu TLD as a trainee at RESTENA from 1996 to 1999.
