Ian James

Gameplay Engineer

Ian James is a seasoned gameplay engineer currently contributing to the development of Borderlands 4 at Gearbox Entertainment since October 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a software engineer at Aspyr Media, where significant achievements included porting Civilization 6 to multiple platforms and resolving cross-platform networking issues. Ian also held the role of systems engineer at My Crop Technologies, LLC., focusing on a Scrum-oriented workflow with skills in C#, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript. Previous positions involved enhancing proprietary auditing software at Insurance Audit Services and working on virtual slot machines with Unity3D and C# at Williams Interactive. Ian founded Glass Cannon Games as CEO and Designer early in the career. Academic credentials include a BS in Computer Science from the University of Northern Iowa and studies at Bard College at Simon's Rock.
