Michael Simms

Michael Simms is a highly experienced Senior Staff Geologist currently at G.E.C., Inc. (GEC) since July 2023, specializing in hydrogeology, subsurface geology, and groundwater modeling. Prior to GEC, Michael served as Project Director at SCS Engineers, focusing on hydrogeology, groundwater remediation, carbon sequestration, and subsurface geology from February 2021 to July 2023. Michael's tenure at APTIM involved project management as a Senior Project Geologist, where significant investigations into produced-water pressure buildup and fault activities were conducted. Earlier, Michael was a Senior Project Geologist at URS Corporation, leading international carbon sequestration initiatives. Michael Simms earned a PhD in Earth and Planetary Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University between 1999 and 2011.
