John Brewer

John Brewer has over 25 years of experience in technical writing, publications management, and information systems architecture. John began their career at Avocent Corporation in 1995, where they held various roles, including publications manager and technical publications manager. During their time there, they managed technical writing, graphics, and localization, as well as SharePoint development and management, and assisted with internal communications and marketing activities. In 2013, John joined Synapse Wireless, where they worked as a senior technical writer, performing technical and marketing writing, as well as handling the layout and printing of those materials. John also shot and edited photos and videos. In 2018, John started working at Geeks and Nerds (GaN Corporation), first as a technical writer, where they worked on proposals, and later as an Information Systems Architect, building and evaluating information systems after working in cybersecurity and information and knowledge management tasks for various GaN customers.

John Brewer obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 2015. Prior to that, they earned a cognate in Technical Communication from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, which they attended from 1991 to 1995. From 1988 to 1991, they attended the University of North Alabama, but did not obtain a degree. Additionally, John received two certifications including Pragmatic Marketing - Level 2 (PMC-11) from Pragmatic Marketing in September 2015, and Certified MadCap Advanced Developer for Flare version 9 from MadCap Software in June 2013.
