John Conley has a diverse work experience in academia, blockchain technology, venture capital, and research. John started their career in 1989 as a Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they worked until 2002. John then joined Vanderbilt University as a Professor in the Department of Economics, specializing in technology, information, and innovation. In 2016, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at Microsoft. In 2017, they became a Venture Partner - FinTech Advisor at impact Venture Capital. Additionally, they have been involved in the blockchain industry, serving as the Chief Economist and Technical Advisor at Geeq, a layer 1 blockchain infrastructure platform.
John Conley obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of Rochester, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from 1984 to 1989.
