Jim Philo has a strong work history in the construction industry. Jim started their career at Blount International, Inc. in 1982 as an Estimator/Field Engineer and worked there until 1987. Jim then joined Baker Concrete Construction as a Project Manager from 1987 to 1989. Jim Philo's most recent role is as the Vice President, Field Operations for Rudolph Libbe Inc., a Rudolph Libbe Group Company, which they have held since 1989.

Jim Philo earned an Associate's degree in Structural Engineering Technology from Owens Community College between 1977 and 1979. Later, from 1980 to 1982, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Construction Technology from Bowling Green State University. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jim has obtained several certifications in the field of construction and management. In September 2018, they completed the course "Bluebeam: Managing Construction Drawings Digitally" offered by LinkedIn.
