Pelt is a Belgian municipality located in the North of the Limburg province. It is adjacent to the towns and cities of Hechtel-Eksel, Lommel, Bocholt, Hamont-Achel and Peer. 

Pelt covers a size area of 83.63 square kilometers or 32.29 square miles and has about 33 000 inhabitants.

Pelt consists of 9 unique villages: Overpelt centrum, Neerpelt centrum, Sint-Huibrechts-Lille, Lindelhoeven, Boseind, Holheide, Overpelt-Fabriek, Grote Heide and Herent.

Industrial area Nolim-park serves as the most important component of Pelt's economy, mainly located inbetween the local highways N71, N74 and the channel Herentals-Bocholt.

Pelt is seen as a municipality with a deliberate green look and feel. Both 'Bosland' and 'De Groote Heide' are beautiful areas of nature, known for their vast forests and spectacular heathers. For tourists Pelt is home to numerous family-friendly activities and lodging options.

Thanks to the renowned hospiltal 'Noorderhart Mariaziekenhuis', the medical rehabilitation center 'MS', the 'Sint Oda' service center for people with disabilities, Pelts own senior activity centers etc. Pelt offers a wide range of qualitative (heatlh)care options for everyone.

In terms of population Pelt is one of the fastest growing municipalities in the province of Limburg and even has the largest percentage of young families buying a house in Flanders (2022).
