Edward Johnson

Edward Johnson serves as the Corporate Responsibility Director at Gemfields Group, focusing on positively impacting Africa through responsibly sourced coloured gemstones. In addition to this role, Edward operates Edward Johnson Consulting, where support is offered to businesses in the gem and jewellery supply chain on Environmental Social Governance (ESG) matters. Previous positions include Business Development Consultant at CIBJO, where Edward contributed to the Jewellery Industry Voices webinars, and Director of Business Development at the Responsible Jewellery Council, where efforts were made to promote sustainable practices within the jewellery industry. Edward's extensive experience in the field is complemented by a background at GIA, where leadership roles in business development and education were held across Europe and the UK. Edward holds a Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America and a BA (Hons) from the University of Liverpool, specializing in African and Development Studies.
