Mara Block

Mara Block, PhD, serves as a Partner at Gemic, a global growth strategy consultancy with a focus on utilizing social science tools to inform business strategies, since August 2018. Prior to this role, Mara Block was affiliated with Harvard University from September 2008 to May 2018, where responsibilities included developing and teaching multiple courses on religion and global health, achieving notable teaching accolades. PhD research highlighted Mara Block's expertise in American religion and psychiatry, with successful presentations at numerous conferences and the completion of a comprehensive dissertation. Additional experiences encompass strategic consulting at Alan Kantrow LLC, collaborative case competition success at MIT Sloan School of Management, and roles in teaching and curriculum development at various institutions. Mara Block holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Harvard University, a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Religious Studies with a Mathematics minor from the University of Redlands.
