Vinay Bhat

Vinay Bhat is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Gemini since April 2022, Vinay previously held the position of Software Development Manager at Amazon, managing the Media and Entertainment team for Amazon CloudFront. Before Amazon, Vinay dedicated nearly 15 years to Microsoft, where roles included Principal Software Engineering Manager for Microsoft Azure, leading the reservation system for datacenter hardware, and Principal Software Engineering Lead for the Windows Universal Store, driving innovations in continuous deployment and improving engineering practices. Vinay’s early career included significant contributions to Office 365 and Visual Studio at Microsoft and a summer internship at Dell, focusing on machine learning. Vinay holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
