Larry Brown

Senior Mechanical Engineer at Genalyte

Larry Brown has over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering. Larry began their career in 1993 as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Sierracin Magnedyne where they were responsible for integrated motion control systems for medical and semiconductor manufacturing equipment markets. In 1997, they moved to Stratagene where they designed robotic linear motion stages used to move biological samples within an optical scanning QPCR 'quantitative polymerase chain reaction' analysis instrument. Larry also designed and verified a high performance thermal system for heating and cooling biological samples with extreme precision and temperature uniformity, for which they were awarded multiple US patents. In 2007, they took a contract position as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Alcon, a Novartis company, where they designed and verified molded plastic fluid control components for cataract surgery instrumentation. In 2008, they moved to Agilent Technologies where they designed and verified a high performance thermal system for quantitative processing of biological samples. Finally, in 2016, they joined Genalyte, Inc. as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Larry Brown attended Cornell University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
