Tom Smith

Tom Smith has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Tom currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Gencor Industries, Inc. since October 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Engineering and Vice President of Operations & Engineering at BOMAG Americas Inc. from January 2015 to September 2022.

Before joining BOMAG Americas Inc., Tom worked at BOMAG Americas, Inc. as the General Manager for the Oklahoma City division from March 2013 to December 2014. Prior to that, they held various positions at Terex, including General Manager of Terex Roadbuilding in Oklahoma City, Director of Engineering for Terex Roadbuilding in North America, and Corporate Director of Product Development. Tom worked at Terex from August 2008 to March 2013.

Earlier in their career, Tom served as the Director of Advanced Product Development at E-One from February 1998 to August 2008. Before that, they worked as a Program Manager for International Business at Tower Automotive from June 1995 to February 1998. Tom also held the position of Project Leader at Fluid Management from January 1994 to June 1995.

Tom's career began at Hamilton Sundstrand, where they worked as a Senior Program Engineer from June 1987 to January 1994.

Throughout their career, Tom has gained extensive experience and expertise in engineering leadership, operations management, and product development across multiple industries.

Tom Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, specializing in Fluids, Dynamic Machinery, Computational Modeling, and Cloud Physics from 1983 to 1985. Tom then pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management with a focus on Finance and Program Management from the same university, completing it in 1987.
