We believe in a simple but powerful vision: a world where women, girls, and gender expansive people thrive — safe, resourced, and fully enjoying their rights.

Since 2014, Gender Funders CoLab is a network of private philanthropic foundations mobilizing more and better funding for gender justice.

We’re committed to experimenting with new ways to fund feminist movements — learning by doing, building trust with activists, collaborating, and embracing innovation.

Funding feminist movements supports more than gender equality. Women and girls don’t live single-issue lives, and feminist movements are on the frontlines of intersectional struggles — from environmental justice and LGBTI+ rights to disability rights, democracy, and Indigenous sovereignty. By building a stronger, more effective philanthropic sector, Gender Funders CoLab enables quality funding that powers long-lasting feminist movements and delivers real, lasting change.

Together, our members from some of the leading private foundations channel over $200 million annually toward advancing gender justice.
