Pete Clark

Head of In Planta Entomology at Genective

Pete Clark is the current head of In Planta Entomology at Genective. Pete has over 15 years of experience in the field of biotechnology regulatory sciences. Prior to joining Genective, Pete worked at the J.R. Simplot Company from March 2011 to December 2014, where they led efforts for the approval of biotech products in the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan and other countries. Pete also helped lead the strategy and implementation of the Regulatory program at the J.R. Simplot Company, which included environmental risk assessment, plant characterization, and trait characterization. In addition, Pete worked at Monsanto from November 2008 to March 2011 as the North America Corn Entomology Lead, and from September 2005 to September 2008 as the Regulatory Sciences Ecological Interactions Lead. During their time at Monsanto, they were responsible for making governmental submissions to the USDA, FDA, Health Canada, CFIA, MAFF, and many other agencies. Pete successfully received USDA deregulation for the 1st Simplot biotech potato and received 1st experimental use permit for Simplot biotech plant incorporated protectant. Pete also made the first submission and achieved technical completeness for Simplot late blight resistant potato. Pete holds patents for US8889964; US8889963; US8754303; US8710311; App20140328994.

Pete Clark attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for all three of their degrees. Pete first earned a BS in Agronomy and then went on to get their MS and Ph.D. in Entomology from the same school.

They are on a team with Tanner Odom - Field & Seed Operations Manager, Matthew Pete - Head of Protein Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Rick Emnett - VP, Finance & CFO. Their manager is Qiaoni Linda Jing, CEO.
