Joseph Devaney

Joseph Devaney is an experienced professional in the field of genetics and molecular biology, currently serving as a Director at GeneDx since July 2017. Before this role, Joseph worked as a Staff Scientist at Children's National Health System from July 2014 to July 2017, where development of next-generation sequencing for clinical samples was a primary focus. Previously, at Children's National Medical Center from January 2008 to July 2014, Joseph managed diverse projects related to genetic variants and complex diseases, led grant applications, and taught classes at The George Washington University. Earlier career experiences include working as a Research Scientist at Transgenomic, Inc. from 1997 to 2001, designing methods to analyze genetic variants, and as a Research Assistant at AFDIL from 1995 to 1999. Joseph holds a PhD in Chemistry from American University and a BS in Chemistry from Penn State University.
