Bethany Baumann

Bethany (Beth) Baumann is a Data Standards Consultant at Genentech since April 2021. Prior to this role, Beth served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Illinois Chicago from June 2016 to April 2021, focusing on the functions of small noncoding RNA under the mentorship of Dr. Larisa Nonn. In 2020, Beth enhanced data science skills through a three-month intensive training program at Metis, completing projects in machine learning with Python. Experience also includes freelance editing for Cactus Communications, focusing on medical manuscripts, and research positions at Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania, where work involved biological sciences and regenerative medicine applications. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biology from Northwestern University, a Bioinformatics certificate from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Bachelor’s Degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Data Science certificate from Metis.
