Chao Yang

Chao Yang is a Principal Scientist at the Cell Therapy Center of Excellence at Genentech, focusing on immunology research with expertise in NK cell biology and CD8 T cell exhaustion. They have extensive experience in CAR T cell immunotherapy and a strong foundation in lymphocyte signal transduction, along with an interest in the transcriptional regulation of immune cell differentiation. Prior to their current role, Chao worked as a Senior Scientist at Poseida Therapeutics and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology. Chao earned a PhD in Immunology from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where their research concentrated on NK cell biology. They also hold a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Xiamen University.
