David Richmond

David Richmond is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in machine learning and bio-image analysis. Currently serving as the Director of Machine Learning - Perturbation Biology at Genentech since October 2021, David previously held multiple roles at IBM Watson Health, including Senior Data Scientist and AI Algorithm Lead, where responsibilities included leading a team focused on AI for medical imaging. Prior experience includes positions at Harvard Medical School and the Max Planck Institute, where David developed advanced algorithms for biomedical imaging using machine learning and deep learning. David holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.Sc. in Honours Physics with a minor in Math from the University of Victoria.
