Deepak Lamba

Dr. Deepak Lamba is the Ophthalmology Translational Area Head and Distinguished Scientist at Genentech, focusing on retinal pathogenesis and repair using human stem cell technologies. They have contributed significantly to the understanding of human retinal degenerations through stem-cell-based model systems, genome editing, and retinal cell replacement therapies. Dr. Lamba's prior roles include Assistant Professor at Buck Institute for Research on Aging and Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington. They hold an M.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Washington.
