Ed Dere, PhD, DABT, is a Senior Principal Scientist and Toxicologist in Translational Safety at Genentech, where they have been involved in drug development from early research to late-stage clinical development. They have authored regulatory documents such as BLAs, INDs, and IBs, and have led nonclinical strategies for clinical development, including a cancer immunotherapy program. Previously, Ed held roles at Michigan State University, Brown University, Van Andel Institute, and Rhode Island Hospital, specializing in bioinformatics and toxicology. Ed is currently pursuing a B.Eng in Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria, alongside a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Michigan State University and a B.Sc in Biochemistry from The University of British Columbia.
