Florie Mar

Florie Mar, PhD, currently serves as Senior Medical Science Director in Global Medical Affairs for Ophthalmology at Genentech since February 2018, having previously held roles including Global Medical Science Director and Senior Scientific Communications Director in the same field. Florie is also the President and Founder of Youreka Science, an organization dedicated to enhancing public understanding of biomedical research through engaging educational content. Prior experience includes contributions to medical affairs and product launch strategies at Portola Pharmaceuticals, alongside various educational and research roles at prestigious institutions such as the University of California, San Francisco, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Florie completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at UCSF, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology and Clinical Research from Stanford University. Additionally, Florie holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University.
